Project Description

Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling is a popular alternative activity to skiing while in Vail. There are many companies offering both guided and unguided trips in our area. Picture yourself flying across a powder covered mountain on a bluebird Colorado day with 60 pound feet of torque in your hands! It is exhilarating! Today’s snowmobiles are not like those of the past either, no more breathing diesel fumes or loud engines; many even have heated handles. Snowmobiling is a fun sport for the whole family.

You have many options for snowmobiling when you come to Vail. You can go on a guided tour, or rent your own. You can ride alone or with someone. One of the outfitters even has small snowmobiles for young children to ride on their own on a track. Most of them will pick you up and drop you off at your door, or you can drive yourself to their facilities. On longer tours lunch is usually served. While the important equipment such as helmets are provided by the outfitter, your company will recommend how to dress for snowmobiling and provide you with most anything that you are missing. Different snowmobiling companies are located in various places too, from Vail Pass to Castle Peak to Camp Hale so you can choose the one that is best for you.

For snowmobiling our favorite outfitters are:

Sage Outdoor Adventures

Nova Guides

You can book your trip directly or our concierge can help you book one when you arrive at Sandstone Creek Club. Try snowmobiling for a winter memory you won’t soon forget.
